When I went to cover the national gymnastic championships held at the SMS Stadium in Jaipur, I could see only lines and various shapes, twisted and bent in various angles. For the audience sitting in the gallery, the lines were the outlines of the bodies of world class gymnasts, agile and flexible. But to me, they were living examples of photographic compositions, elements that seemed to be procured by a magic wand specifically to be captured in the lense. When properly used, lines and shapes can create any desired effect in a photo and as a photographer it is very important to have control over lines and shapes. These photos, captured from different angles are meant to unravel the geometry of gymnastic and how every action of the gymnasts are in sync with various geometrical shapes and sizes.
